Melancholic is just an utter feeling that I've been having these past few days. As a friend of mine says, I'm starting to lose some of my friends (marriage wise that is) and in my case, I'm also starting to lose my mind. (Not that I'm not aware of that in the first place.) =P But seriously, I can't really see where I'm headed and trust me in life there is never turning back so all in all I'm pretty damn lost. Same thing I can say bout politicians now days actually. They lost track of the main purpose to why there is politics.
Election is just around the corner as how most of you would know, but up till now I can't really comprehend the need to have such an event. The outcome will still be the same. Some uneducated or too self-involved creep would win the chair and we as citizens are left unnoticed and in the dark until the next to come election. Duhhh!!!
Have you been checking out the news lately? You should. The good thing bout being overseas (and wired up to surf the net) is that you have more time to catch up on what's happening in Malaysia and I just can't believe that we are supposed to pay so much respect to these so called 'leaders'. For example, I was watching youtube a few months back when they held this 'Bersih' rally and Al-Jazeera was covering a news of this event. They interviewed one of our so called leader, and instead of answering the question 'why was the rally a taboo to the government and ended up in pure government violence', he kept on blaming Al-Jazeera for a false report. How in the world Al-Jazeera was to report the truth when the government itself don't really co-operate?
Another thing about 'politicians' is that they have never heard the word lame before have they? On one side (the government), when it's time for election, that is when they continue on blabbering of the need for the nation to unite. And to their own summary, the thing to do that is by selecting them to lead the nation. The best part of this plan is that, at this same moment, the government would then hold out charity and various events, to non-before acknowledged groups or people from different walks of life to show much they care. One example of this is the colours of university events held in most IPTAs in Malaysia recently. Supposedly the students of these unis are to show their unity as Malaysians due to the politics brought by the government. Where was this event during non-election periods? Are we as citizens suppose to accept that a government should only play the role of a government during the election periods?
On the other hand, we have the oppositions. Sounds evil some might say but that is how the ruling government brands them. Well they are too non likely an angel. Instead of doing something to prove how much they should be elected, come election periods, fingers start to point. Point at what you might ask? Well the government of course. Let the balming games begin. Oh come on ppl. Grow up for once. Stop this nonesense. As leaders, play your role. Haven't you heard? It's all been done before.
To politicans, if truly you want to open up and stand up to what you owe us citizens, my advice would be, stop screwing around you jackasses. Stop smothering us with all the bullshits that you have been feeding us for far too long and start working on stuff that matters. What is the use of having unity when crime is off the charts? What is the use of having police when the only thing we learn that they themselves are not fit to uphold justice? And pls, I need not even begin with our political and judicial system.
To quote Afdlin Shauki's end of an entry favourite sentence 'Power to the people', I seriously do hope, the people would really use their powers in good conscience. Be a good samaritan and choose wisely for the next coming election. To all have a nice day while I straighten up my act and find my path in life. =P
