The walk of pride covers it all,
The shame, the guilt, the rise and the fall,
We walk hand in hand every single day,
But you and I are never the same.
How do you see life and how do I?
The joy and laughter, the tears as we cry,
Is everything so different I ask you now,
How tall do we stand and how low do we bow?
In pain I scream and in fear I cower,
While you stood looking down feeling mighty as ever,
Should I do the same when you are desperate in need?
Need I provoke you more, when help I could give?
My voice is not yours and my views are of my own,
You haven't what I have, nor you wish to get along,
Yet still, why do I sympathize so much?
When we no longer, see eye to eye.
Yes the walk of pride covers it all,
The shame, the guilt, the rise and the fall,
Though we walk hand in hand every single day,
We both, my friend, will never be the same.
