NWTRE Ep 29: The old radio...

"Man... kau tahu tak si polan tu dah kahwin??" "Ye ke Boi? Mak aih... terlanjur apa??"

Typical gossip at kedai kopi... If you are to say, women gossip more than men... not true at all. Just ask any guy in Malaysia about the latest news on 'gorgeous' women artists... You'd expect a single I don't know phrase rite?? Wrong... get ready with a cup of kopi 'o and you'd be surprised on what answers come out of their mouth.

Nowadays, everything spreads like mushrooms after a rainy day. Just ask anyone in Malaysia and I betcha they'll know what you are talking about. (This is of course in the matter of either politics or celebrity gossips) It's truly understandable that some are extremely curious in a matter of way how it'd affect them. But the way we look at some issues nowadays, it's more of 'bantering' (sarcastic euphamism) the opposite side rather than discussing the issue at hand.

What's weird is that, these gossips don't just affect celebrities anymore. Some ppl even talk about their neighbors and close relatives. Well it's understandable when one tries to find a solution for the problem or maybe they just need someone to share their burden with. It's the external 'loudspeakers' I don't get. Are you trying to get some attention or free publicity out of other people's misery? I guess this is what they mean by 'Schadenfreude'...

Well as I said to a friend of mine, there's no use in playing the blame game cause I myself admit that I'm guilty of the same offense sometimes. Just hoping that one day, it will all change for the better. As they say in 'Melodi'(though I think it's quite ironic that this particular show mentioned it cause they are all about gossips anyway)... 'tingkatkan produktiviti kurangkan kontroversi.'

Another issue that I'd like to discuss in the next entry about how people... well maybe Malaysians, expect everything to happen as fast as possible... Till next time... insyaAllah...

Till then, cheerios...
